    Below are a few commonly asked questions regarding our dental plans. Please take a moment to read this information and learn more about your options.






    How do I make a dental appointment?
    To make an appointment, simply contact the General Dentist that you have selected. If you are a Prestige plan member and have an in and out-of network option you may select a provider from our network or you may choose any dentist. All other plan members simple need to select their dentist from our Network of General Dentists.  Once you have selected your dentist, call the office and identify yourself as an Argus member. Present your ID card to the office upon arriving for your appointment. If you need assistance with choosing a dentist, please contact our Customer Care Department.

    What if I need to cancel my appointment?
    Should you need to cancel your appointment, please notify your dentist at least 24 hours prior to your visit. If you do not provide sufficient notice for a cancellation, you may be charged by the office for a broken appointment.

    What if I need specialty care?
    You have access to specialists in all fields of dentistry at reduced rates through your plan. We recommend that you visit your General Dentist for an appropriate diagnosis prior to visiting a Specialist. However, there is no authorized referral from Argus required prior to seeking specialty care.

    Are services that are not listed on my schedule of co-payments covered under my plan?
    Covered dental services not listed on the schedule of co-payments are available at a 25% discount off a Participating Provider's normal charge.

    Can I change my dentist?
    Provided you do not have an outstanding financial obligation to your original dentist, you may change your dentist at any time by calling our Customer Care Department. Requests made prior to the 20th of the month will be effective on the first of the following month.

    What is the difference between a Routine Cleaning and a Periodontal Cleaning?
    A routine cleaning includes scaling and polishing of teeth with normal periodontium (gum attachment and bone support). A periodontal cleaning includes maintenance procedures, which are necessary for patients who have periodontal problems such as gum disease or pyorrhea. If you would like additional information regarding the difference between various types of dental cleanings, please visit the dental education section of our website.

    What should I do if I need to request an additional ID card?
    Additional ID cards can be requested by contacting your Benefits Administrator or our Customer Care Department.

    What if I need to change my address?
    To update your address, please contact your Benefits Administrator or our Customer Care Department.

    What if I leave my place of employment?
    If for any reason you leave your place of employment, Argus gives you the option of continuing your coverage with an alternative method of payment. Please call our Customer Care Department for more information.
